Our Exhibits & Projects team creates inspiring experiences and spaces that engage people with science in the world around a Capital Project Manager you will lead the planning and delivery of visitor experience renewal projects across Science North such as science centre galleries multimedia theatres and travelling exhibitions. Working closely with internal teams consultants contractors funders and community partners you will manage projects through their full lifecycle from business case and design development through procurement construction commissioning and project is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who enjoys bringing people together solving complex challenges and delivering projects that have a lasting impact on our this role you will:Lead capital projects to create unique and engaging exhibitions and experiences from concept development through design procurement construction commissioning and closureDevelop and manage project scope budgets schedules forecasts risk and reportingBuild strong relationships with project stakeholders funders sponsors rightsholders and community partnersWork collaboratively with internal Science North teams such as STEM engagement marketing graphic design technical services and facilitiesCoordinate external consultants such as exhibit designers architects engineers and graphic designersCoordinate exhibit fabricators and construction contractors including representing Science North during construction activities site reviews commissioning and occupancy planningOversee procurement processes contract administration change management and project documentationPrepare project reports presentations and recommendations for leadership governance committees and funding partnersChampion health and safety and support Science North best practices for accessibility sustainability equity diversity inclusion and reconciliation throughout project deliverySupport the continuous improvement of project management practices standards and tools across the organizationQualifications:Degree or diploma in Project Management Engineering Architecture Construction Management or a related discipline2-6 years of experience managing projects through planning design procurement construction and occupancyGenuine curiosity and interest in the Science North visitor experience and high-quality exhibit developmentExcellent communication negotiation relationship-building and facilitation skillsStrong problem-solving skills attention to detail and sound professional judgmentKnowledge of project budgeting forecasting scheduling contract administration procurement and risk managementAbility to read and interpret design and construction drawings specifications and with Microsoft 365 and project management toolsAssets:PMP CAPM certification or actively pursuing this designationExperience working in a science centre museum or cultural/tourism institution and/or developing exhibitions for the general publicKnowledge of building codes Occupational Health & Safety Act and AODA Familiarity with grant reporting and public procurement processesCompensation Highlights:Full-time permanent opportunityCompetitive salary starting at $53700 to $89400 per yearAnnual performance and merit increase considerationParticipation in the Science North Employee Incentive PlanFlexible work arrangementsComprehensive group benefit package including medical dental vision paramedical life/travel insurance short and long-term disability coverage 24/7 telemedicine access wellness spending account/ onsite physio/chiro servicesPension plan following one year Science North annual family membershipOnsite gymFree or discounted admission to other attractions outside Sudbury Science North facilities and program discounts fitness membership contribution on-site parkingProfessional development opportunitiesMinimum 4 weeks vacation with incremental entitlements of one week after 5 and 10 yrs of serviceFree onsite parkingDont meet every single requirementAt Science North we are dedicated to building a diverse inclusive and authentic workplace so if youre excited about this role but your past experience doesnt align perfectly with every qualification in the job description we encourage you to apply anyways.
