Job Summary
Provides a variety of customer service-related duties including cashiering merchandising answering customer inquiries and providing support for customer printing.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides customer care including acknowledging and greeting customers encouraging purchases through product and service recommendations to meet customers needs and responding to customer requests.
- Performs cashier duties such as receiving payments from customers for merchandise and print jobs; maintains daily cash float balance and summarizes daily cash sales.
- Performs front-end printer and photocopier functions and services.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties such as word processing data entry answering the telephone and responding to emails.
- Provides support to the Print Services production team including creating quotes and job tickets from the print management software.
- Assists with the upkeep of front of store including stock replenishment merchandising and display changeovers organization and cleanliness and pricing and labeling.
- Provides support to student printing such as filling paper and toner clearing paper jams and answering questions.
- Assists in updating user and device data in fleet management system.
- Performs the production and issuing of the TRU Campus ID Card.
- Provides support for campus store receiving.

Requirements
EDUCATION:
- Grade 12 plus a one-year post-secondary diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
- One years experience in a print services related office environment including proven experience with Microsoft Office Acrobat and print management software
- Related retail experience
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES RELATED TO THE JOB
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to handle cash and working knowledge of cashiering in a retail environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with customers
- Ability to operate related equipment such as cash registers and printers
- Knowledge of POS systems (i.e. WinPrism and WebPrism)
- Ability to reformat and print projects from multiple page layout and document creation software programs
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Standing for long periods of time
- Sitting in front of computer for long periods of time
- Ongoing contact with staff and customers
- Ability to lift weights of up to 10 kg
