Job Summary
Position: Business Systems Analyst (BSA)
Client Location: Toronto
Work Model: hybrid
Duration: 5 Months
A brief Job Description: We are looking for a technically strong BSA who can independently draft business and technical user stories and collaborate effectively with Tech Leads
Skills required and Qualifications:

- 5 years in a BSA or similar role with a prior background in software development technical analysis or a closely related technical discipline.
- Must be able to independently draft technical user stories for components such as APIs ETL pipelines event-driven consumers and data transformation logic - even if Tech Lead review is expected before finalisation.
- Working understanding of REST APIs ETL pipelines and messaging/event-driven systems (Kafka queues or equivalent).
- Strong data mapping and data analysis skills.
- Proficient with Jira Confluence and requirements traceability.
- Comfortable reading API specs data schemas and architecture diagrams independently.
What This Role Is Not
- This is not a role for someone who expects the Tech Lead to write or heavily draft technical stories. The BSA owns the first cut; the Tech Lead validates.
- This is not a purely functional BSA role. Candidates without a technical foundation will not be set up for success.
Preferred
- Banking or wealth management domain knowledge.
- Exposure to AWS services (Lambda MSK S3 or similar).
