Job Summary

This is a senior Business Systems Analyst role within a small high-performing Capital Markets team of approximately 1112 people focused on U.S. Treasury clearing. The BSA will provide support and produce detailed system requirements and technical/functional specifications in alignment with standards and frameworks working in close partnership with business partners technology and project teams and stakeholders to elicit analyze document communicate and manage detailed functional specifications. The role requires specialized knowledge of OTC and Repo Margining modules of the vendor software Colline hosted on client infrastructure and at least 5 years of experience in Capital Markets with knowledge of Risk Methodologies Trade products and Trade Life Cycle OTC Derivatives and Collateral. The resource may work on multiple projects and topics simultaneously and must be comfortable multitasking. This is a backfill for an existing BSA whose 2-year contract is ending and there is potential for a long-term role.

Key Responsibilities

Role Overview

  • Analyze features of new vendor modules required for the USTC program for margining of sponsored clients (Colline upgrade required to introduce new modules)
  • With knowledge and experience of OTC and Repo Margining modules of CMOS/Colline application assess changes required in existing CMOS system and its integration with upstream and downstream systems
  • Requirement analysis user story writing and system testing
  • Data ingestion and publishing requirements
  • UAT testing of new modules and regression testing of existing modules
  • Cut over planning and Go-live preparations

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Work across OTC and repo business lines
  • Gather and analyze requirements
  • Write/document requirements and user stories
  • Work closely with developers
  • Perform testing
  • Support business users
  • Participate in approximately 34 hours of meetings early in the day with the remainder focused on documentation testing analysis etc.
  • Potentially work on two projects in parallel

Accountabilities

  • Develop effective and efficient solutions by researching/analyzing current state system capabilities and defining technology solution options/recommendations working closely with key technology partners (e.g. Solution Architects and Quality Assurance staff)
  • Define document and translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and non-functional specifications
  • Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product performance user acceptance and operational acceptance testing
  • Support and contribute to project management activities by participating in the scoping and estimating of project efforts risks identification and mitigation measures recommendation communicating activity status and providing timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems to the Project Manager
  • Participate in quality management reviews in particular reviews of the designs prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure they fulfill the requirements
  • Support collaboration with key stakeholders to determine solutions assess impact to existing work processes and systems and how to manage the integration
  • May provide operational/process-related analysis and support to various extents
  • Ensure best practices related to the BSA discipline are adhered to and enforced within project processes and deliverables
  • Adhere to existing processes/standards including requirements management and project management disciplines well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and business technology architecture escalating issues as required
  • Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technologies trends/developments and develop expertise in TD services applications infrastructure analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of business domains and their products/services
  • Support the development of business cases including benefits identification RFI/RFP and service level agreements with vendors/suppliers consistent with technology requirements/guidelines
  • Maintain ongoing communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Able to perform BSA tasks effectively while assigned to a single project or multiple concurrent projects
  • Prioritize and manage own workload in order to deliver quality results and meet timelines
  • Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business quality innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/points of interest
  • Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units
  • Coach new or less experienced colleagues and act as a reference for the requirements management lifecycle

Required Skills
  • Experience in OTC and Repo trades (5 years minimum)
  • Experience in Capital Markets (5 years minimum; 10 years ideal but 67 years minimum can be considered if the candidate is strong)
  • Requirements analysis user story writing and system testing (5 years minimum)
  • Data ingestion (5 years minimum)
  • UAT testing and regression testing (5 years minimum)
  • IT BSA experience (5 years minimum)
  • Specialized knowledge of OTC and Repo Margining modules of vendor software Colline hosted on client infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of Capital Markets trading processes
  • OTC (Over-the-Counter) trading knowledge fundamental/must-have
  • Repo/repurchase agreement knowledge particularly repo rates and understanding of repo trades
  • Strong BSA skills including requirements gathering documentation user story creation working with developers to explain requirements testing/UAT business/user interaction problem solving and analysis
  • SQL expected/strongly preferred; considered essentially standard for the role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable working with both Business and Technical teams
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task effectively and independently within a fast-paced environment
  • Able to gauge the appropriate level of priority and detail and/or effort on any given project
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
