Business Project Manager, financial field

Mandate Overview:

• The client is looking for two senior project managers to lead business projects in the financial domain with full accountability: project plan deliverables budget schedule risks and deliverable approval. The project manager is the central point between the sponsor managers contribution leads and the external integrator and authorizes resource change requests. The clients note emphasizes BUSINESS project management in capital letters which rules out profiles limited to technical IT projects. The mention of credit granting risk points to projects related to lending or financing. The client also wants a versatile profile able to mobilize business teams IT teams and vendors.
  
• Target candidate: a project manager with more than 10 years of experience who has delivered large cross-functional business projects in a financial institution or risk management context and reported to a steering committee. Experience on credit or financing projects is a clear differentiator; a PMP MGP or ACP certification is an advantage but not eliminatory.

Required:

• Business project management senior and versatile profile (client note)
  
• Project management in large-scale contexts (medium to very large cross-functional)
  
• Experience in a risk management context and/or in a financial institution
  

Desired:

• Knowledge of credit granting risk
  
• Planning and coordinating multiple large-scale deliveries

• Communication political skills leadership and initiative in complex contexts
  

Asset:

• PMP / MGP / ACP certification

• Profile listing only technical IT projects (infrastructure migration deployment) with no demonstrated business-scope project.
  
• Coordinator or project lead profile without demonstrated ownership of the project plan budget and steering committee reporting.
  
• Scrum Master or PO presented as a project manager without demonstrated cost and schedule management.
  
• PCO or PMO portfolio support profile without direct project delivery.
  
• Experience limited to single-team projects with no cross-functional project involving several departments or an external integrator.
  
• Background with no financial institution or risk management experience.
