About the Role
The Business Operations Analyst serves as the operational backbone of the Business Solutions Excellence (BSE) team. This roleis responsible forinvestigating operational and data-related issues supporting business stakeholders managing the intake and triage process for incoming requests and driving issues through to resolution.
This is a highly cross-functional role that combines business analysis operational support data investigation and continuous improvement responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Investigation
- Develop and execute SQL queries to investigate operational issues andvalidatebusiness data
- Analyze data trends anomalies and discrepancies toidentifyroot causes
- Support commission reporting contract management enrollment validation and operational reporting
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve data integrity and reporting issues
- Translate business questions into meaningful analysis and actionable insights
Power BI Support
- Support the development maintenance and validation of Power BI reports and dashboards
- Investigate data discrepancies and reporting issues
- Assist with DAX measures report optimization and data validation activities
- Partner with business stakeholders to ensure reporting meets operational requirements
Business Process Analysis
Map current-state processesidentifygaps document business rules and support process improvement initiatives. You can sit in a room with an operations teamunderstand operationalworkflowsand translate them into documented processes and improvement opportunities.
Business Unit Support
Act as a first point of contactwhen business teamsencounteroperational process or data-related challenges. You investigate triage escalate when needed and follow through take ownership and follow issues through to resolution.
Ticket & Issue Management
Intake prioritize and track issues across teams. Make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Provide updates close loops and keep stakeholders informed without being asked twice.
Operational Problem Resolution
- Lead investigations into operational reporting and data-related issues
- Coordinate across departments toidentifyroot causes and implement solutions
- Drive issues through to completion whilemaintainingstakeholder communication
- Present findings recommendations and next steps clearly to business leaders
- Proactivelyidentifyrecurring issues and recommend long-term solutions
Required Qualifications
- 35 years of experience in Business Analysis Operations Analysis Business Operations or a related role
- Demonstrated experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements investigate issues and communicate findings
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying relational databases
- Experience investigating data process and operational issues
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience working with ticketing systems service queues or issue management processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Power BI experience including report validation and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting retail energy utilities enrollments contract management EDI transactions or commission administration
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory or data integration processes
- Experience documenting business processes and business rules
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies

- Become the primary owner of the BSE operational support queue
- Reduce issue resolution timelines through proactive investigation and follow-up
- Improve stakeholder satisfaction across Sales Finance and Production Excellence
- Create andmaintainkey process documentation and business rules
- Identifyopportunities to improve operational workflows and reporting accuracy
- Enable BSE leadership to focus on strategic initiatives by reducing day-to-day operational triage
