Business Analyst

About the Role
The team is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst who is passionate about automation governance and responsible innovation. You will play a critical role in ensuring that every automation application and AI use case entering our pipeline is complete compliant and aligned with clients governance standards before progressing through security privacy and stakeholder approvals.

As the bridge between business stakeholders citizen developers platform teams and governance groups you will help transform ideas into scalable secure solutions while protecting the organization against application sprawl duplicate solutions inconsistent data practices unmanaged integrations and security risks.

This role combines business analysis governance oversight stakeholder management and Power Platform expertise. Success requires strong analytical skills the ability to challenge assumptions and the confidence to hold teams accountable to established governance processes.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

What Youll Be Responsible For
1. Intake Analysis & Qualification
.Analyze document and evaluate automation application and AI use cases submitted to program.
.Work closely with requestors to understand business objectives current state processes expected benefits and success measures.
.Ensure all required information is complete accurate and validated before a use case progresses to the next stage.
.Review use case documentation business requirements audience definitions ownership information and supporting artifacts to ensure they are governance ready.
.Identify gaps inconsistencies missing information or potential risks early in the intake process.
.Challenge assumptions and ensure the proposed solution aligns with business needs and platform capabilities.
2. Governance & Compliance Oversight
.Act as a governance gatekeeper throughout the intake and approval lifecycle.
.Prepare and coordinate deliverables required for security privacy compliance architecture and governance reviews.
.Ensure all use cases comply with Client standards Power Platform governance requirements and enterprise policies.
.Provide clear direction to business teams on governance expectations and approval requirements.
.Prevent unsupported non compliant or high risk implementations from progressing without appropriate mitigation.
.Promote responsible adoption of automation AI and low code technologies while balancing innovation and risk management.
3. Power Platform & Delivery Enablement
.Leverage your understanding of Microsofts Power Platform ecosystem including:
oPower Automate
oPower Apps
oPower BI
oCopilot Studio
.Collaborate with platform administrators and technical teams regarding:
oEnvironment strategy
oData Loss Prevention (DLP) policies
oConnector governance
oSecurity and access management
oLicensing considerations
.Support the development and continuous improvement of intake processes approval workflows and governance practices.
.Contribute insights that improve platform adoption while maintaining enterprise controls.
4. Stakeholder Management & Delivery Coordination
.Serve as the primary liaison between business units citizen developers platform teams CorpSec and governance stakeholders.
.Build strong relationships and establish credibility with stakeholders across the organization.
.Drive accountability and ensure stakeholders complete required activities in a timely manner.
.Follow up proactively with requestors to obtain missing information and keep initiatives moving forward.
.Facilitate discussions resolve ambiguities and guide teams toward compliant solutions.
.Communicate complex governance and technical concepts in a way that is easily understood by non technical audiences.
5. Risk Identification & Continuous Improvement
.Assess proposed solutions for security compliance operational and adoption risks.
.Recommend enterprise compliant approaches and alternatives when risks are identified.
.Define and track key intake and governance metrics including:
oIntake cycle time
oApproval lead time
oCompliance completeness
oRejection and remediation rates
oThroughput and adoption metrics
.Identify opportunities to streamline governance processes while maintaining appropriate controls.
.Contribute to the ongoing maturity and evolution of Clients Automation at program.
6. Education & Responsible Adoption
.Educate business users and citizen developers on governance expectations best practices and platform standards.
.Promote responsible automation and AI adoption across the organization.
.Help teams understand not only what requirements exist but why they matter.
.Foster a culture where innovation security compliance and operational excellence coexist.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Qualifications
Experience
.5 years of experience as a Business Analyst Product Analyst Process Analyst or similar role.
.Proven experience gathering requirements analyzing business processes and documenting business needs.
.Experience working in governance compliance security risk management digital transformation or enterprise technology environments.
.Experience navigating large complex organizations with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Technical Skills
.Strong understanding of the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.
.Familiarity with application development concepts integrations data management and automation technologies.
.Understanding of governance security privacy risk management and compliance principles.
.Knowledge of low code/no code development and Citizen Development programs.
.Experience with Power Platform governance frameworks CoE practices DLP policies or environment lifecycle management is considered an asset.
.Experience working alongside professional development teams is considered an asset.

Language Requirements
Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position. The successful candidate will regularly collaborate with colleagues and business stakeholders across Canada in both official languages.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70000$135000. This role is an existing vacancy.
