Job Summary

  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor.
  • Inspect motor in operation road test motor vehicle and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults.
  • Adjust repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system brakes steering and suspension engine and drive train emission control and exhaust cooling and climate control and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturers performance specifications.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service such as oil changes lubrications and tune ups mount and balance tires wheel alignments.
  • Advise customers on work performed general vehicle condition and future repair
  • requirements.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to
  • determine whether to repair or replace unit.
  • Test and adjust repairs to specifications.
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Coach and instruct apprentices.
  • Provide customer service.
  • Salary
    Flate rate is $40.00 per hour after obtaining trade certificate the flat rate is $50.00 per hour.


Requirements

Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

Experience:
-Workers must have a minimum of 72 months (6 years of experience) AND 9360 hours of work experience.
-The recruited candidates will meet the minimum requirements to obtain a Journey person Certificate as Automotive service technician upon arrival in Canada
-Once in Canada workers will have to challenge the trade theory exam.
-Workers must be eligible to apply for the Trades Competency Verification (TCV).
-A valid drivers license is required. (Class 5)
-Experience in diagnose and repair of passenger cars SUVs and light trucks is required.
-Experience with scan tools hand tools and automotive repair procedures is required.

Work conditions and physical capabilities: fast-paced environment tight deadlines handling heavy loads physically demanding manual dexterity attention to detail standing for extended periods bending crouching kneeling overtime required.

Personal Suitability: initiative accurate judgment effective interpersonal skills team player organized excellent oral communication.

Language: English is required.

Important information: Flexibility on schedule is required. Our business operating hours are from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The worker will be required to work 9 hours per day 4 days during weekdays (Monday to Friday); and 7 hours on Saturday.
