Job Summary
Hourly Rate: $15.00 - $18.22. Placement within the range is typically based upon a review of skills experience and internal equity. Position End Date: March 31 2027

How youll contribute
Observe learn from and assist AV Specialists with service requests installations projects and daily operational tasks
Assist with basic testing and troubleshooting of AV systems and equipment escalating complex issues when required
Support the maintenance of existing AV systems by checking equipment status verifying connections and assisting with updates under supervision
Help ensure compatibility between AV systems and related devices such as desktop computers laptops and peripherals
Use the ServiceNow ticketing system to document update and support the resolution of client requests in accordance with established processes and service standards
Collaborate with the Service Desk Classroom Technology team and other internal partners to support the effective operation of classroom and campus AV systems
Interact with clients staff and colleagues in a professional courteous and service-oriented manner
Assist with inventory control hardware tracking and the movement of equipment between campus locations
Support administrative and documentation tasks such as checking classrooms inspecting ports and hardware and taking photos of spaces for internal records and databases
Support hardware installation and room readiness activities while following departmental standards and procedures
Conduct routine inspections to identify equipment damage system issues and cable management concerns that may affect functionality
Qualifications
- Must be a registered SAIT student enrolled in an Information Technology Cybersecurity Computer Science or related program
- Some experience with low voltage system wiring and basic AV components such as speakers amplifiers projectors TVs etc is an preferred asset
- Knowledge of how to read and follow construction diagrams and work orders
- Competence in safely using power tools is required
