CBC Saskatchewan is looking for an Associate Producer assigned to our live streaming and supper hour television programming based in Regina.
As we know audiences continue to evolve in how where and when they engage with our content. We know now more than ever how important visual storytelling is for our journalism to reach current and new audiences and to ensure we stay relevant. We need to be live when audiences need us and on demand when audiences want us.
The successful candidate will be responsible for proposing original story ideas developing program content organizing interviews doing research as well as video editing and bringing the show to air. With appropriate direction this role organizes and contributes to the preparation production post-production work for live and on demand video. Your platform delivery list includes CBC Saskatchewans FAST Channel YouTube TikTok and television you know how to tailor your storytelling to each of these platforms and their audiences.
While work is generally performed following established standards and procedures there is a regular requirement for independent judgment and initiative.
This role requires a keen eye and a passion for paying attention to details. It is also important to have a strong sense of visual elements beyond traditional videos such as infographics and value-added graphics. Work sometimes involves the coordination of the activities of others.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- Demonstrated ability to work with a team you may occasionally be leading your workgroup.
- Strong writing and editorial abilities.
- Strong and enthusiastic team player.
- Connected to the community we serve.
- Passionate about Saskatchewan stories and issues.
- Curious quick thinking incisive and critical thinker.
- Innovative with programming ideas.
- Knowledge of television programming and in production for news and information programs including a demonstrated ability to write edit (Avid) vet and line-up.
- Experience using programs such as iNews Dalet Avid would be considered an asset.
- Skilled using social media to research/ source stories; and as a breaking news tool.
- Experience in graphic design/editing would be an asset.
- Demonstrated attention to accuracy under time constraints required.
- University degree or equivalent with a minimum of two years in a similar position preferred.
- Chase guests for interviews under tight deadlines.
