Associate Manager Vaccine Preventable Disease (1 full-time position)

The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) has an exciting opportunity to fill an existing vacancy for a full-time Associate Manager Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD). Reporting to the Manager Vaccine Preventable Disease this position will assist with efficient and effective delivery of the VPD program as part of a leadership successful candidate will provide leadership to the multi-disciplinary VPD team which is responsible for the delivery of multiple interventions aimed at preventing vaccine-preventable diseases in the community. This includes implementation of the Immunization of School Pupils Act administration of vaccines in school and community clinics vaccine management and assessing cold-chain compliance in the community. The VPD team also works closely with other teams within the Environmental Health Infectious Diseases and Clinical Services (EHIDCS) Division in order to administer vaccine as needed for outbreak management. The successful candidate will complete duties including but not limited to:Providing input and assistance with schedules workload distribution and assignments and communicating these to the team including arranging coverage for various job roles. Overseeing and supporting the work of team members and troubleshooting problems arising in daily work coaching development and mentoring to team including clinical supervision and reflective with the recruitment training and orientation of new staff for performance management and annual evaluations of direct to complaints from the public and resolving related performance identifying areas for improvement seeking solutions and making up to date team protocols medical directives and processes assessing when a change is required communicating updates to the team Being available to frontline staff during their workday if they have questions or require team members with complex clinical/client interactions providing guidance and assessment based on applicable regulatory body standards (e.g. CNO).Supporting planning and leading implementation of staff continuous learning and professional development that staff function in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines and service area and agency policies and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives and and handling program-related issues and escalations raised by team members including recommending mitigation communication and collaboration strategies with team members leadership team members and other staffSupporting the Manager VPD in maintaining and managing fiscal resources budget and reporting back-up coverage for other leaders on the work hours are required with an expectation to be on-call within a duties as :A four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) is certificate of competence from the Ontario College of Nurses (CNO) is five years of experience in public health which includes a minimum of one year experience in a leadership with relevant Regulations and Guidelines as well as the Ontario Public Health Standards legislation and protocols is communication interpersonal and leadership in working with diverse populations as well as demonstrated understanding of and experience in addressing health ability to create a safe work to take initiative work independently and effectively collaborate with computer skills in the areas of documentation and MS Office as well as proficiency with public health information systems and to complete a graduate degree is an of the principles of health equity and why it is a foundational standard for public health. This includes the demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and/or communities to advance public health priorities;Excellent computer skills with emphasis on MS Office applications (Word PowerPoint SharePoint Teams); andAbility to communicate in French or any other languages would be considered an asset.
