We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent for our Quinte Detention Centre Project in Napanee Ontario.

As the Assistant Superintendent you will be in the field responsible for on-site construction activities. You will help to oversee day-to-day site operations manage field staff and trade partners and ensure the project is delivered safely on schedule within budget and to the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities:

Lead supervise and mentor field staff on-site while fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment;
Manage daily construction activities and ensure adherence to project plans and schedules;
Maintain strict safety standards and lead by example in promoting a safe work environment;
Collaborate effectively with subcontractors and trade partners building positive working relationships that drive
project success;
Conduct regular site inspections safety meetings and quality control checks;
Resolve on-site issues in collaboration with the project manager consultants and client representatives;
Monitor progress against the project schedule and regularly report on status;
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages open communication and mutual respect
among all team members.
Reporting to the lead Superintendent on a day to day basis along with support the lead Project Manager.

Requirements

Minimum five to seven years in related role (e.g. assistant project superindendent field project coordinator);
Preference on having a Gold Seal Certification or equivalent professional designation;
OHSA certification and other relevant safety training;
Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and municipal requirements;
Lean construction or other methodology experience;
Proven success leading large-scale and/or complex commercial institutional and high-rise building projects;
Strong knowledge of construction methods safety standards and scheduling;
Excellent leadership communication and decision-making skills;
Ability to foster collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders;
Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools;
Ability to work full-time on-site.

Desired Profile

Knowledgeable and experience in the detention center construction projects or equivalent.
Able to use Microsoft Windows MS-Word MS-Excel MS-Powerpoint
Bonus with software skills in MS-Project or equivalent Revu Bluebeam Autodesk Revit and/or other construction and
project management related tools
Bonus in have knowledge and ability for layout and survey skills
