Job Summary
Prior to May 1 2022 the University required all students faculty staff and visitors (including contractors) to declare their COVID-19 vaccination status and provide proof that they were fully vaccinated or had an approved accommodation to engage in in-person University activities. Reporting to the Executive Director Professional Graduate Programs and working closely with the Program Teams the Marketing Department and the Smith Digital Solutions Team the AD Recruitment and Admissions is accountable for enrolling high-quality students into Portfolio of Professional Graduate Programs at the Smith School of Business. The AD will direct the recruitment and admission activities and team in support of the strategic enrolment objectives of the programs. The AD Recruitment & Admission is an integral member Professional Graduate Programs leadership team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a team of Advisors and Analysts to meet enrollment targets by executing data-driven recruitment plans.
Collaborate with Smith departments to identify and prioritize reporting requirements timely communication and to ensure clarity of process to achieve admission targets.
Identify opportunities for business process improvements and ensure staff are properly trained.
Demonstrate sound judgement with respect to the understanding interpretation and application of Smiths strategic direction.
Responsible for recruitment and admission activities and events designed to attract admit and enrol qualified students to our programs.
Deliver a high quality seamless customer user experience from initial inquiry to arrival at Queens.
Plan targeted marketing and recruitment activities to ensure a well-qualified applicant pool to support the program enrolment plans.
In collaboration with Program Directors identify prospective candidates in traditional non-traditional and emerging markets determine methods to reach prospective candidates solicit qualified applicants and convert candidates to students. The incumbent must also develop measurement criteria to evaluate effectiveness and determine and recommend opportunities to improve effectiveness.
Responsible for the sales funnel and ensuring the proper infrastructure is supporting the conversion strategy.
Develop and maintain expertise of educational systems to identify and evaluate applicants for admission.
Plan budget implement and evaluate recruiting initiatives.
Participate in budget planning and recommend resource allocation. This will include developing an annual and longer-term business plan to guide marketing and recruitment and admissions.
Foster a data-driven dynamic continuous improvement culture within the team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree. An MBA is considered an asset. Consideration will be given to the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience managing and directing staff (3-5 years).
Experience in a leadership role.
Experience managing sales-oriented teams.
Experience developing proposals and project plans including performance measurement criteria.
Experience developing presentations and speaking to large groups of people.
Experience organizing promoting and executing special events.
Student recruitment and admission marketing or public relations background is an asset.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Analytical and interpretive skills. Ability to develop and implement recruitment strategies that are targeted and measurable evaluate their effectiveness and recommend and implement change.
Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels
Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate and lead the execution of activities efficiently and effectively
Well-developed public relations skills
Excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills as well as strong intercultural communication skills
Experience harnessing and leveraging technology particularly to advance communication and tracking strategies.
Specific experience with software packages/applications (Salesforce PeopleSoft Microsoft Office)
Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours (some evenings/weekends)
Experience with international study abroad and/or exchange programs is an asset

Decisions regarding the management and supervision of a team
Determine and develop effective marketing plans for recruiting and promotion
Determine and evaluate criteria to measure the effectiveness of recruitment activities
Decide how to prioritize activities to accomplish objectives for self and reports
Decide on resource allocation as well as staff and budget recommendations for supplemental resources to support plans
Decisions regarding student admissions
Decide how and when to best invest time and attention to various recruitment activities for optimum results
Determine and recommend content for communications (print web other electronic presentations)
