EMC Business Solutions LLP (EMC) is part of the Keith Scott Group of companies. EMC was founded as a business in January 2014 to empower businesses through Finance and Digital Technology. EMCs business is to provide inventory financing for the network of independently owned Beachcomber Hot Tub independent dealerships and enter the digital world of sales and marketing. EMC believes digital marketing is going to replace the traditional forms of marketing and shoppers would increasingly use the internet as their source for shopping. EMC invested heavily in staffing and digital experts as they introduced new marketing strategies for independently owned Beachcomber Hot Tub dealerships. The strategy of entering the world of digital sales and marketing also saw EMC set up Omni-Channel sales of Beachcomber hot tubs in markets and retail supply chains that Beachcomber independent dealerships were not presently in. EMC believed increasing the awareness of Beachcomber through digital marketing and entering new sales channels would increase sales of Beachcomber hot tubs and Beachcomber Plus Products for Beachcomber and its network of independently owned dealerships.

EMC Business Solutions LLP (EMC) is seeking a high energy people-centric and results orientated individual to work with our Finance and Administration Team as an Assistant Controller.

Data decision and people are the three ingredients in business finance and as the lead business accountant the incumbent education and credentials are concentrated in business finance and accounting. The assistance controller is responsible for accurate data producing accurate financial books and records for the company. They must understand the operations of the business and apply full cycle accounting with underlying relationships between inputs outputs and the processes that support them. This role as a business accountant begins with being the correct numbers person and using technology tools to create descriptive reports and analysis that supports business decisions with a mindset geared towards accuracy stewardship policy and ethics.

Location will be at the EMC Business Solutions Office: 100 Park Royal South West Vancouver V7T 1A2

Education and Training:

1. Accounting Designation.
2. Strong proficiency with Accounting Management Software (Syspro would be a bonus).
3. Proficient with Microsoft Excel Word Teams Outlook.
4. Excellent communications skills.
5. Very analytical with the understand of how data and numbers flow through the system.
6. Self-Directed and motivated to improve any you see in or out of the Finance department.

Responsibilities:

1. As a Business Accountant you will provide analytical and critical thinking.
2. Supervision of Accounts Payables and Receivables.
3. Supervision of showroom inventory financing program modeled after the auto industry.
4. Proactively monitor system generated transactions.
5. Manage full-cycle accounting including journal entries to General Ledger complex intercompany reconciliation financial statement preparation adhering to ASPE.
6. Responsible for ensuring all GL reconciliations are completed monthly.
7. Responsible for creating the first draft of monthly/year end financial statements.
8. Preparing year end lead sheet for KPMG
9. Responsible for a small ADP payroll and the associated HR tasks involving payroll.
10. Work with other departments to ensure financial impacted projects complete on time.
11. Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding receivables and payables.
12. Management of Government remittances such as GST/PST/QST
13. Maintain banking needs.
