Position Scope

NACG is looking for Articulating Truck Operators to work on a remote mining site in the Fort McMurray area. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.

Site: Syncrude- Aurora

Schedule: 14x7 OR 10x4; 12 hour shifts (Days only) Paid for 12

Rate: up to $49.67/hr combined rate. This includes base rate with 6% vacation and 4% holiday training H&W and Pension on each cheque.

Overtime: Provided after 8 hours a day or 44 hours a week

Accommodations: Not provided

Transportation: Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts)

The successful candidatewill be required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.

Responsibilities

What Youll Be Doing

  • Operate 40T and 60T Articulated Trucks in a mining or heavy construction earthworks environment (model types can include but are not limited to Caterpillar Komatsu John Deere and Volvo)
  • Complete pre-use equipment inspections to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition
  • Complete field level risk/hazard assessments prior to tasks and as tasks change.
  • Participate in the safe fueling and servicing of equipment
  • Interact with loading and dumping equipment
  • Follow mine driving rules
  • Interact with other contractor and client equipment
  • Ensure compliance to all company client and legislated safety policies operating standards and procedures
  • Using adequate and suitable safety equipment including all required PPE
  • Reviewing safe work plans/ hazard assessment with prior to job commencement and follow all requirements
  • Report any necessary repairs to the maintenance team or supervisors
  • Report all incidents near misses or damage immediately
Qualifications

What Makes You The One

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Articulating Haul Truck Operator on civil type project.
  • Experience driving in mine areas and congested areas
  • A safety-first attitude
  • Attentive and possess strong listening skills
  • High school diploma GED and/or post-secondary education is considered an asset.
  • Be proficient in English both verbally and written
  • Have a valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • CSO Certification
  • Silica Awareness
  • Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness
  • Hydroden Sulphide
  • OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness
  • Field Ergonomics
  • High school diploma GED and/or post-secondary education is considered an asset.
