COMPANY AND JOB DESCRIPTIONSofinain Hanover Ontario is hiring 1 (one) Animal Welfare Monitor position on thenightshift in the Live Receive Duties:Monitor and document animal welfare conditionsEnsure compliance to MOP Chapter 12 RegulationsEuthanize compromised/unfit birdsRemove snow and road slush from the bottom of the live haul trailers and scaleReceive live haul trailersPosition and reposition trucks and trailers as directedMaintain good manufacturing practices as related to hygiene allergen handling and temperature controlOther duties as assignedQualifications:Ability to work with minimal supervisionSuccessful completion of Sofina Foods humane handlingSuccessful completion of Livestock Transportation course transfer of careAbility to working in all environmental conditions exposure to heat and coldSatisfactory reading writing math oral communication and comprehension skills (to be tested)Demonstrated understanding of food safety (to be tested)Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse shipping and receiving practices (to be tested)Ability to operate forkliftAbility to prepare hand written and computer reports ensuring all reports are completed with accuracy and in a timely mannerAbility to meet the physical demands of the position including heavy lifting (50 lbs)Demonstrated recent satisfactory performance and attendanceHours:Night Shift Start Time:The night shift position begins promptly at10:30 PM(end times vary by facility requirements).Hours per week vary depending on season but there is the often the opportunity to sign up for extra hours in other departments during slower USSofina Foods is committed to Employment Equity and maintaining a diverse workforce.
