Analyst, Institutional Portfolio Operations Billing (1-Year Contract)
Job Summary
Interested in joining one of Canadas top performing asset managers We are looking for an Institutional Portfolio Operations Analyst for an existing vacancy on our Institutional Portfolio Operations team on a 1 year contract. When you join the Institutional Portfolio Operations (IPO) team as an Analyst you are joining a group of tightknit energetic and social individuals who together have a direct impact on the investment success of individuals pension funds foundations and endowments First Nations and other institutional clients. The Institutional Portfolio Operations Analyst is a critical part of our firm and clients success and is a challenging and rewarding role for the right individual. You will experience the inter-workings of the asset management world and will have the opportunity to advance your skills for future growth and development within Connor Clark & Lunn (CC&L). Our offices currently operate on a hybrid model with a combination of in-office and remote working days throughout the week.
What You Will Do
- Serve as a key operational contact for billing activities providing subject matter expertise and support to clients affiliates accounting teams custodians senior management and other internal stakeholders on fee administration invoicing revenue reporting and related operational matters.
- Calculate institutional client and fund management fees generate invoices and coordinate the timely distribution of billing information to clients custodians and affiliated entities.
- Develop financial models and analytical tools to support fee negotiations client proposals revenue forecasting and strategic business initiatives.
- Coordinate the payment and administration of fund expenses across CC&Ls diverse suite of pooled investment products ensuring expenses are processed accurately approved appropriately and settled on a timely basis.
- Identify operational risks control gaps and process inefficiencies and recommend solutions that enhance accuracy scalability resiliency and service quality.
- Partner closely with the IRG Process Automation Team to drive the ongoing evolution of billing operations through automation workflow optimization exception management and enhanced control frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Investment Operations Fund Accounting Information Systems Compliance Finance Trading Relationship Management and affiliate partners to support business initiatives and deliver operational excellence.
- Support the development and maintenance of documented procedures controls methodologies and governance practices that promote transparency consistency and audit readiness.
What You Bring
- You have an undergraduate degree in business administration commerce or a related field and a genuine interest for the investment industry.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the investment management industry gained within an institutional asset manager bank trust company or fund administrator. Experience supporting fund accounting management fee administration fund expense processing NAV oversight or related operational functions is highly desirable.
- You can articulate yourself clearly through both verbal and written mediums and work well with others to resolve complex issues.

- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 technologies including Excel (advanced formulas Power Query and VBA) Power BI SharePoint and Power Automate. Demonstrated ability to leverage data automation and technology-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency strengthen controls support scalable processes and deliver actionable business insights. Experience with AI-enabled tools and solutions is considered an asset.
The starting salary for this position is $71000-$76000. The starting salary provided reflects the base salary for this position as required by addition there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position.
