Job Summary
University Relations is responsible for institutional advancement programs (Development Strategic Communications Alumni Relations and Operations and Services) and as such is dedicated to supporting the related needs of all colleges units and the university as a whole. University Relations is comprised of specialized teams that work together as an integrated team to ensure that the University of Saskatchewan has the reputation relationships and resources necessary to take its place among the most distinguished universities in Canada and the world. Alumni and Strategic Engagement provides leadership for alumni engagement strategies programs and services to encourage and foster a sense of community and connection among graduates and to strengthen the relationship between the university and our alumni. We engage our alumni through a variety of programs events volunteerism affinity programs and recognition programs. The office also serves as the corporate home for the University of Saskatchewan Alumni Association a not-for-profit organization representing more than 180000 alumni worldwide. As a member of the Alumni and External Engagement team the Alumni Engagement Officer will work collaboratively with professionals within University Relations as well as other advancement professionals across our campuses to provide structure to alumni engagement across the university. The incumbent will develop partnerships and strong working relationships required to develop and deliver a suite of engagement programs and activities within their assigned portfolios intended to deliver measurable results. The incumbent will also develop and steward relationships with alumni and supporters of the university in order to facilitate programs and activities that align with strategic goals cultivate loyalty promote connectedness within the alumni community and deepen alumni involvement with the university. The Alumni Engagement Officer will work in a dynamic fast-paced innovative and highly collaborative environment with numerous concurrent projects and competing deadlines. The incumbent is required to be motivated innovative client focused results-oriented and a highly effective relationship builder and team player. Consequence of error is significant for the university and its reputation and relationships with stakeholders. Occasional evenings and weekends and some travel is required. Primary Purpose: The Alumni Engagement Officer is responsible for developing implementing and evaluating alumni engagement programs within their dedicated portfolio designed to support alumni engagement priorities and the mission vision and values of the University of Saskatchewan. As a part of the Alumni and Strategic Engagement team this position is integral to building alumni affinity deepening relationships and engagement and advancing philanthropic support of the university.
Nature of Work: Reporting to the Associate Vice President Alumni and Strategic Engagement the Alumni Engagement Officer is responsible for a portfolio of alumni engagement programs focused on advancing the objectives of the University Relations strategic plan. Program areas include but are not limited to student engagement young alumni engagement regional engagement volunteer engagement reunions mentorship and alumni recognition. As the lead on defined engagement programs the incumbent will meet outcomes that deepen alumni engagement and support institutional advancement goals while reflecting the mission vision and values of the university.
