The Opportunity

The Administrative Assistant II provides high-quality administrative secretarial and organizational support to the direct clinical manager staff and other Travelling Clinics department members in the assigned area. They are vital to the efficient operation and work of the Travelling Clinics Department and are able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The Administrative Assistant II is able to function independently prioritizing and dealing with time constraints and multitasking without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail. They are supportive of the IWK Health Centres commitment to Family Centred Care by ensuring a welcoming environment is provided to the patients and families we serve.

Your Qualifications
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Graduate of a recognized Office Administration Program is required.
  • Minimum six (6) months of experience in a related administrative/secretarial role required. A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Advance working knowledge of MS Office programs required.
  • Minimum keyboarding speed of 60 wpm required. (Testing may be conducted on candidates).
  • Experience in MEDITECH and CIS preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology an asset.
  • Demonstrated initiative self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision required.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven attention to detail excellent organization prioritization and analytical skills required.
  • Excellent judgment diplomacy and discretion in handling confidential and/or sensitive materials are essential.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and flexibility in meeting workload demands.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset.
