Were seeking an Actuarial Associate to join our Individual Pricing team as part of our Actuarial Student Program. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the development and pricing of Individual life and health products while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative provides an excellent opportunity for actuaries of all levels to develop a broad skill set and offers them the experience of working on a variety of actuarial topics. Through offering development opportunities job rotations compensation increases and SOA exam support the Actuarial Student Program at Equitable Life aims to build strong actuarial talent. You will work in our office in Waterloo ON a minimum of two (2) assigned consecutive days every other week plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum youll do:Support the development and maintenance of Illustration Calculations in ProductXpress (PX)Support the design pricing and ongoing management of Individual life and health products (e.g. Universal Life Term Participating and Critical Illness)Assist in profitability analysis and monitoring of existing products providing insights and recommendations under guidanceContribute to experience studies to assess assumptions and inform pricing decisionsAssist in the preparation of actuarial reports and analyses on a monthly quarterly and annual basisSupport the maintenance and enhancement of pricing models and actuarial toolsCollaborate with business partners to support product development illustration systems and sales processesContribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives within the Individual Pricing youll bring:A bachelors or masters degree in actuarial science mathematics statistics or a related fieldASA/ACIA preferredCompletion of preliminary actuarial exams and VEE creditsStrong technical skills including advanced Excel; knowledge of SQL VBA or Python is an assetPrior experience with ProductXpress (PX) is an assetExposure to actuarial software (e.g. AXIS) and familiarity with Individual life products are assetsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentEffective communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex concepts clearlyWhats in it for you:Career Growth: Regular learning sessions and developmentopportunitiesTotal Rewards: Incentive pay annual salary reviews employer-paid benefits and pensionmatchingTime Away: Competitive vacation plus one paid volunteer day each yearFlexibility: Healthy work-life balance with employee wellness always top of mind complemented by a dress for your day approachPlease upload a copy of your Society of Actuaries transcript with your Equitable were committed to fair pay and an inclusive accessible hiring experience.
