Accounting Student Winter 2027

Our Finance team is made up of more than 200 professionals supporting a diverse group of companies across J.D. Irving Limited. Through our long-standing Student Work Term Program students gain meaningful hands-on experience while contributing to real business initiatives in a collaborative fast-paced environment. We are also proud to be a CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) Training Program Office.

The Accounting Student position is an excellent opportunity to build foundational accounting experience while working alongside experienced finance professionals. Students will gain exposure to accounting processes financial reporting business operations and continuous improvement initiatives while developing both technical and professional skills that will support their future careers.

• Support financial statement preparation and reporting activities
• Perform accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records
• Complete account reconciliations analysis and compliance-related activities
• Collaborate with accountants and other finance professionals across the organization
• Leverage technology and analytical tools to support reporting and process improvements
• Participate in professional development networking and mentorship opportunities
• Complete a work term project and collaborate with other students across the business

• University Business Commerce Accounting or Finance student in good academic standing
• Available for the Winter 2027 Work Term
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Curious with a continuous improvement mindset
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Interest in pursuing a career in Accounting Finance Analytics or a related field
