Summer positions will run May-August 2027. Co-op and Internship positions may extend beyond the summer term depending on the requirements of the academic program and the business. These terms may be 8 12 or 16 months in length.

To be eligible for the SECURE Student program you must:

• Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August.
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian Citizenship Permanent residency or a valid work permit.
• Complete a Medical and/or Alcohol and Drug test if the role is considered safety-sensitive.

This position supports SECUREs Metals business segment at the Red Deer Metals Recycling Facility. The student will support the finance team in analyzing financial data reconciling accounts and assisting in cash management activities. The goal is to provide hands-on experience in corporate finance while contributing meaningful insights and supporting the efficiency of team operations.

The successful applicant must reside in the Red Deer area or be willing to relocate at their own expense for the duration of the summer term.

This role is based out of Red Deer Alberta.

Youll be joining a collaborative finance team that plays a critical role in ensuring accurate reporting effective cash management and efficient operations across the organization. The team values precision collaboration and adaptability while supporting a wide range of financial functions.

This is a full-time summer student position based in Red Deer Alberta supporting SECUREs Metals business at the Red Deer Metals Recycling Facility. Working Monday to Friday youll collaborate with both finance and operations teams gaining exposure to financial processes inventory analysis cash management and business decision-making in an industrial environment. The role provides valuable hands-on experience while contributing to the success of a dynamic and growing business.

• Assist with cash reconciliations and follow up on any discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting.
• Support the preparation of financial statements by gathering and verifying data from various departments.
• Conduct inventory and vendor analysis by reviewing costs invoicing accuracy and helping the team with new software implementation.
• Collaborate with the AP team to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices.
• Participate in ad hoc financial projects and reporting requirements adapting to evolving needs as they arise.

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Finance Accounting Business Administration or Economics.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret financial data identify trends and assist in data-driven decision-making.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data handling and report preparation.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Excel and experience with accounting or financial software is a plus.
• Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills to work with multiple team members across the organization.
• Team-Oriented: A collaborative mindset ready to support various finance functions and adapt as priorities shift.
