POSITION OVERVIEW

At BDC the only bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs you contribute directly to the success of Canadian this role you support the growth of small and medium-sized companies in the technology sector (software SaaS e-commerce AI video games telecommunications). You develop business opportunities in financing and advisory by building strong client relationships. Your work combines business development financial analysis and credit decision-making.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

• Build and maintain relationships with business owners clients and prospects in the regional technology sector to understand their business models challenges and opportunities
• Identify client needs and recommend appropriate BDC financing and advisory solutions
• Execute a marketing and business development plan aligned with Business Centre objectives to grow and retain a portfolio of technology clients
• Develop and manage a 90-day business development pipeline and identify new opportunities
• Analyze financial information and prepare negotiate and present high-quality loan proposals using sound credit judgment
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and expand your professional network within the technology and business community

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Must-have)

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration Finance Accounting or a related field (or equivalent)
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role involving sales targets and business development
• Experience performing financial analysis (e.g. reviewing financial statements assessing credit risk)
• Knowledge of the local business community (e.g. Vancouver region)
• Demonstrated ability to build client relationships and identify business opportunities
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Nice-to-have)

• Professional accounting designation (e.g. CPA) or actively working toward one
• Experience in the technology sector (e.g. software SaaS e-commerce AI telecommunications gaming)
• Existing network within local business associations or chambers of commerce
• Experience in lending credit analysis or commercial financing
