Position Summary

Manito Ikwe Kagiikwe (MIK) supports women and children affected by systemic marginalization and substance use who have complex health and social needs. Functioning as part of a coordinated service delivery team the Outreach Worker works proactively with new and existing clients offering a range of support and recovery services within an existing service plan and on an as-needed basis. The Outreach Worker is a relationship-builder and advocate and provides service in a non-judgmental and culturally appropriate manner helping clients to build new skills and achieve their goals

Qualifications

Education
Must have a Valid Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle.

Skills Expertise and Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience working in community preferably with program target population
Experience providing outreach with hard to reach populations

Critical Skills
Proven knowledge and ability in critical thinking decision-making problem-solving and crisis management

Focus on Results
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and focus work-related activities to effectively and efficiently achieve service goals and produce expected results/outcomes

Indigenous Understanding
Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture and traditions and the impact of colonization on the health and well-being of Indigenous individuals and families

Post-Secondary Education in a Social Services field
