The Opportunity

Our client is looking for a Staff Platform Engineer to own the platform architecture from infrastructure through production.

This is a highly hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys designing distributed systems building cloud platforms solving complex infrastructure challenges and shipping production-ready solutions. Youll define technical direction own critical platform decisions and help establish engineering standards while remaining deeply involved in implementation.

What Youll Do

• Design and own the architecture of the companys platform infrastructure end-to-end
• Build and maintain GraphQL gateways API infrastructure internal SDKs and shared platform services
• Manage Kubernetes environments across AWS and GCP including networking scaling security and upgrades
• Develop production-grade backend services automation tooling shared libraries and Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi
• Modernize legacy systems through pragmatic refactoring and architectural improvements
• Build observability monitoring incident response and reliability systems across the platform
• Implement security best practices covering zero-trust networking secrets management compliance and auditability
• Drive compliance initiatives across HIPAA LGPD ISO 27001 and other regulatory frameworks
• Champion AI-assisted engineering workflows across platform operations incident response code review and automation
• Mentor engineers through technical leadership while remaining an active contributor

What Were Looking For

• Proven experience designing and shipping large-scale production platform architectures
• Strong backend engineering background with deep systems design expertise
• Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
• Strong practical experience with AWS and GCP
• Proven ownership of infrastructure from design through long-term production operation
• Experience modernizing and scaling legacy distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of observability monitoring reliability engineering and incident response
• Experience working within regulated environments such as HIPAA LGPD SOC2 GDPR or ISO 27001
• Strong coding skills with a passion for building production systems rather than managing projects
• AI-first mindset with practical experience using AI tools to improve engineering productivity
• Experience operating in fast-paced startups or high-growth technology companies
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments with a strong bias toward shipping

• Graph databases (Neo4j Amazon Neptune)
• Firestore or MongoDB at scale
• Healthcare infrastructure EHR integrations or FHIR APIs
• Multi-cloud platform architecture
• Platform security and security auditing
• Technical leadership or mentoring experience without formal people management responsibilities
