Pleno Database Reliability Engineer IndaiatubaSP

We are redefining the traditional DBRE role into a modern Data Platform Engineering function focused on automation reliability cloud-native operations and scalable patterns for database infrastructure across the company. Our team partners with multiple product and platform squads to provide a robust database platform on AWS primarily using RDS with PostgreSQL while also supporting Oracle and SQL Server workloads.

You will play a key role in executing our modernization journey participating in initiatives such as migrating legacy workloads to AWS implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) enhancing observability and building automation. This is a global team.

• Implement and maintain highly reliable secure and automated database environments on AWS;
• Provision monitor and operate AWS RDS instances (primarily PostgreSQL; Oracle/SQL Server as secondary);
• Utilize and contribute to reusable cloud/database standards Terraform modules and Flyway pipelines;
• Support and execute data migrations between different databases (including using AWS DMS);
• Apply and maintain security governance and compliance policies in database environments;
• Collaborate with development teams on SQL tuning schema modeling and troubleshooting;
• Develop and maintain automations (Terraform pipelines Bash/Python scripts);
• Produce and update technical documentation runbooks and share knowledge with the team.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Systems Analysis or related fields (or equivalent practical experience);
• Advanced English: Ability to participate in meetings write clear documentation and collaborate effectively with global teams;
• Solid experience with AWS specifically RDS (PostgreSQL is required);
• Hands-on database administration experience (backup/restore replication troubleshooting and tuning);
• Practical experience with Terraform (IaC) for database provisioning;
• Experience with schema versioning/migration tools (such as Flyway or similar);
• Experience with scripting and automation (Bash Python);
• Strong SQL skills and query optimization;
• Availability to work in a hybrid model in Indaiatuba/SP.

• Prior experience with migrations using AWS DMS;
• Knowledge of SRE practices (SLIs SLOs and observability tools like Datadog Prometheus etc.);
• Basic understanding of DB2 (z/OS) or mainframe environments;
• AWS certifications (Database Specialty or Solutions Architect).
