Job Summary

Amazon is hiring a Manager Brazil Public Policy to join a dynamic team that works in support of Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role you will help engage key policymakers regulators and external stakeholders on issues that are critical for AWS Infrastructure operations in Brazil. You will need deep understanding of Brazil local governments the state and federal policy landscape and have experience working extensively with external policy stakeholders. You will work in the field with local state and federal government departments and agencies. You must be available to travel to infrastructure locations in Brazil as well as some international travel.


Key job responsibilities
- Develop deep relationships with federal state and particularly local government leaders where AWS has infrastructure expansion and operations lead and implement public affairs and policy strategies for the AWS infrastructure business.
- Assess and communicate potential regulatory and policy threats develop mitigation strategies and policy positions and coordinate external advocacy and outreach programs and key initiatives.
- Provide government relations and public affairs support for the AWS infrastructure team to ensure smooth operations.
- Seamlessly collaborate with internal customers including business development real estate legal tax economic development and PR teams among others
- Effectively communicate the scope and benefits of AWS investments to external stakeholders at all levels and across disciplines.
- Proven experience with sustainability trade and tax related issues is required


- Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law Political Science Public Policy Public Affairs Economic Development)
- 10 years of public policy government relations community relations public affairs corporate social responsibility or equivalent experience
- Speak write and read fluently in English

- Speak write and read fluently in Spanish
- Masters degree or above in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law Political Science Public Policy Public Affairs Economic Development)
- Experience working with Brazilian federal state and municipal government agencies on infrastructure technology or data center-related policy matters
- Strong track record of building and managing coalitions with industry associations think tanks or advocacy organizations in Latin America
