Head Teacher, Primary Division (Grade 3-5)

WHAT YOULL DO

Our Primary Division provides a transformative academic program to engage young minds and promote creative thinking. During grades 1-5 students cultivate independent thinking and deepen their understanding of what it means to be a member of a community through a curricular emphasis on: language immersion; inquiry-oriented learning from the self to the world; and interdisciplinary creativity-enhancing projects.

As the Head Teacher you will:

• Develop and teach curriculum across multiple subjects that engages all learners in meaningful challenging work that cultivates 21st-century skills
• Ensure that all students achieve key learning outcomes for the grade level targeting instruction thoughtfully to address individual needs
• Build a robust learning atmosphere that leads students to value being at school and feel part of a rigorous but joyful learning community
• Collaborate intensively and daily with colleagues to continually improve student learning and school culture
• Deeply connect with students and vigorously uphold a culture of welcome safety and respect 
• Inspire trust and confidence among parents and families

Qualifications :

ABOUT YOU

• Previous teaching experience in 3-5 grades with a proven track record of student learning
• Strong understanding of and instructional skills teaching through a balanced literacy approach
• Highly effective collaborator eager to listen deeply contribute to a team and achieve goals together
• Deep dedication to learning and developing as an educator
• Very resourceful and adaptive eager to embrace constant change growth and learning  
• Graduate degree in education teaching or a related field
