Job Summary
As an Engineer End Fitting R&D you will play a key role in enhancing consolidating and developing cutting-edge solutions for flexible pipe end-fittings. This role sits within the Engineering & Technology and New Product Development. You will be the primary point of contact for ERD on assigned projects reporting to the Manager of End Fitting Research & Development and collaborate cross-functionally with global teams test facilities and factories. Your work will directly support NOVs leadership in offshore oil and gas and emerging sustainable energy technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate new concepts and drive technology development in line with API 17N/Q and DNVGL-RP-A203 frameworks to deliver cutting edge End Fitting solutions
- Conduct FMEAs to capture technology risks and define qualification programs
- Conduct Analytical and Finite Element analyses to evaluate performance of critical components under complex load scenarios and environmental conditions incl. bolted joint assessments contact problems and plastic deformation of seal components
- Define and oversee test activities and dissections of test End Fittings and field samples
- Collaborate with external certification bodies for certification of new technology
- Develop design methodologies and guidelines and support implementation into our design tools to enable safe and efficient execution of commercial projects
- Collaborate closely with our End Fitting Supply team providing R&D support during tendering and on commercial projects
- Conduct structured root cause analyses in coordination with clients
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications:
- . in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a strong solid mechanics background
- Experience in a similar role within R&D working with development and qualification of advanced products and technology
- Proficiency in Finite Element modeling
- Proven ability to plan and lead test programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Natural drive for engineering excellence
- Commitment to HSE practices
