Position: Bilingual Portuguese STEM Expert (PhD) AI Safety
Type: Contract
Compensation: $50$54/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Write expert-level prompts in Portuguese across specialized scientific topics.
• Evaluate and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy and helpfulness.
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
• Strengthen model handling of sensitive content in Portuguese.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• PhD in chemistry biology or a closely related field.
• Native or near-native fluency in Portuguese.
• Business-level written English.
• Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and computational techniques.
• Sound judgment around scientific safety and dual-use information.

Preferred

• Based in Portugal or Western Europe.
• Expertise in radiochemistry nuclear chemistry or related fields.
• Depth in subfields like organic synthesis molecular biology or virology.
• Experience with chemical safety biosafety or hazardous-materials handling.
• Experience reviewing or red-teaming technical content.
