Transport Coordinator - SKF Logistics Services

As a Transport Coordinator you will be responsible for planning coordinating and optimizing national and international transport flows by road sea and air. You will ensure that shipments are executed efficiently cost-effectively and in line with agreed service levels. You will have the authority to make transport-related decisions that lead to optimal transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor transport plans for road ocean and air freight flows
- Coordinate transport capacity based on shipment volumes operational planning and customer requirements
- Act as the key point of contact between carriers warehouses customer service teams international SKF locations and other internal stakeholders
- Take action to resolve transport and capacity issues and propose alternative transport solutions
- Manage transport-related administration and communication
- Analyze performance through KPIs such as on-time arrivals/departures and fill rates
- Handle claims transport incidents and quality-related cases
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations with a particular focus on dangerous goods transportation
- Maintain and optimize transport data and flows within SAP TM/EM and WASS
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to sustainable transport solutions including CO₂ reporting
Key requirement
- Bachelors degree in Logistics / Supply Chain or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of logistics and transport processes
- Understanding of the transport market and relevant transport legislation
- Good knowledge of PC applications and systems (SAP TM)
- Solid analytical skills and a practical solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to work with shifting priorities and the ability to prioritize in an evolving environment
- Effective communication & collaboration skills
- Good command of English; knowledge of French and/or German is meritorious
- Proficiency in Dutch both written and spoken
- Able to manage pressure well and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations

Some additional information
This position is based in Tongeren Belgium at a major SKF site. Local contract.
The roles operate in a two-shift system (early shift: 6:00 14:00 and late shift 12:00 20:00)
