About the Role
The Software Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the absolute quality stability and reliability of the products delivered by Platform Science across Europe.
In this role you will play a key part throughout the software development lifecyclevalidating correct functionality performance and alignment with business requirements. Since our development teams are split across Leuven (Belgium) and Lille (France) you will serve as a cross-border quality anchor collaborating closely with developers testers and product owners across both sites.
Essential Responsibilities
Functional & Regression Testing: Execute manual testing of newly developed features according to product release cycles and validate implementations against functional specifications.
Test Automation: Design maintain and execute automated regression test suites. Monitor automated execution results and proactively investigate failures.
Defect Management: Analyze document and report bugs in Jira with crystal-clear reproduction steps logs and supporting evidence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management Development and Support teams to clarify technical requirements and resolve complex issues.
QA Continuous Improvement: Contribute actively to the optimization of QA processes test coverage and modern testing methodologies.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive test plans test cases test documentation and user-facing technical notes where required.
Experience & Qualifications
Core QA Expertise: Relevant proven experience in software testing quality assurance and a solid understanding of software development lifecycles.
Testing Methodologies: Strong familiarity with functional integration regression and end-to-end (E2E) testing methodologies.
Automation Tooling: Hands-on experience with test automation tools like Selenium and Playwright.
Preferred Tech Stack: Knowledge or experience with Java JavaScript XML Web Services/APIs Microservices architecture and cloud-based SaaS platforms is a major asset.
Industry Knowledge (Plus): Prior experience in Telematics transportation/logistics driving time regulations or social data compliance solutions is a strong advantage.
Education & Certification: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering IT or equivalent professional experience. An ISTQB certification is highly preferred.
Languages:
English: Mandatory (written and spoken) for global team collaboration.
French: Highly recommended (written and spoken) due to regular interaction with the Lille site.

Compensation & Benefits
Gross Salary:
Belgium: 70000 gross per year
France: 56000 gross per year
Extra-Legal Benefits: Additional country-specific extra-legal benefits perks and allowances are provided in accordance with the local labor laws and legislation in effect in either Belgium or France.
