Short Term Transport Planner

The objective of the Short Term Transport Planning department is to develop and continuously optimize the Lineas network in order to maximize the restrained resources utilization (concretely drive resources productivity) while allowing consistent robust and stable delivery hence assuring high clients satisfaction and network profitability.

You are responsible for the long haul infra capacity reservation in short-term planning for your lines.

You are responsible to continuously optimize and adapt Long Haul resources in short term planning for your lines in order to capture all deviations from the long-term planning related to a) customer or partner demand b)infrastructure works and c) resources supply deviations. Concretely you are responsible to continuously adapt the planning assuring as much as possible covered loc lines and covered driver shifts limiting as much as possible train cancellations (Not Able to Fulfill) limiting impact of disruptions (strikes force majeure elements) while optimizing as much as possible resources utilization (limiting over-hours limiting empty rides limiting detours).

You will focus on following KPIs:

• Optimizing the non-customer related PaP i.e. limiting cancellations due to operational issues (internal & partners)
• Minimizing the deviation actual productivity vs. planned productivity

Optimizing and adapting Long Haul resources in short term planning for your lines in order to capture all deviations as from the long-term planning limiting impact of disruptions (strikes force majeure elements) while optimizing as much as possible stable and safe resources utilization (limiting over-hours limiting empty rides limiting detours) :

• Integrated planning of all long haul production resources on the safety certificate of Lineas (time horizon: from Pert roll until Real Time)
• Rail path planning: Cost efficient and qualitative ordering and processing of rail paths
• Locomotive planning: Cost efficient and qualitative loc (line) & maintenance planning
• Driver Planning: Cost efficient and qualitative drivers planning in accordance with labor regulation
• Wagon Planning: Cost efficient and qualitative wagon planning

• 1 years experience in operational roles within an international Railway Undertaking
• Team player both within the own team as across departments
• Excellent communication skills
• Problem solver that keeps cool in stressful circumstances finding the balance between fixing and structurally improving
• High level of integrity ethical behaviour and loyalty
• Good knowledge of MS Office suite
• Knowledge of ERP Systems (CIS IRON)
• Acumen with Lineas dashboards (Tableau)
• This function requires experience in transportation/logistics
• Ideal candidate will demonstrate track record on resources optimization (loc lines drivers series)
• Bachelor degree in logistics or equivalent trough experience
• Oral knowledge of French Dutch English and German
