We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Automator to strengthen ICT delivery teams within a large-scale public sector digital this role you will be responsible for defining implementing and scaling test automation practices across multiple digital transformation projects.
You will ensure that testing activities are structured repeatable and automated wherever possible enabling continuous quality assurance throughout the software development lifecycle. You will work closely with test leads developers analysts and architects in a large-scale Agile/Scrum environment.
A key focus of this role is to improve test maturity across teams support knowledge transfer and embed sustainable test automation practices using tools such as Leapwork and other automation frameworks.
- Define and support the test automation strategy within project teams.
- Align automation approaches with enterprise test policies and standards.
- Advise on tooling test architecture and automation frameworks.
- Ensure scalable and maintainable regression test coverage.
- Design and implement automated test scripts based on functional requirements and user stories.
- Build reusable and maintainable regression test suites.
- Ensure coverage of both expected and unexpected system behaviors.
- Support integration functional and end-to-end testing.
- Work with Leapwork for end-to-end test automation.
- Use tools such as:
- Postman / SOAP UI / ReadyAPI for API testing
- Selenium and/or Cucumber (nice to have)
- Apply XPath and scripting techniques where required.
- Support automation in CI/CD pipelines.
- Document and report test results clearly and consistently.
- Track defects and ensure proper resolution follow-up.
- Contribute to test reporting dashboards and quality metrics.
- Ensure traceability between requirements and test coverage.
- Work within Agile/SCRUM and SAFe environments.
- Collaborate with developers analysts and product owners.
- Participate in sprint planning refinement and retrospectives.
- Apply shift-left testing principles in development cycles.
- Coach test analysts and automation engineers.
- Support teams in adopting test automation best practices.
- Train team members on scripting execution and interpretation of automated tests.
- Promote a quality-first mindset across project teams.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in quality assurance / testing environments.
- At least:
- 5 years experience in test coordination roles
- 3 years experience in test automation
- Strong experience in testing complex enterprise applications including integrations and transactional systems.
- Test Automation: Leapwork (mandatory or strong willingness to learn)
- API Testing: SOAP REST (Postman SOAP UI ReadyAPI)
- Automation Tools: Selenium Cucumber (nice to have)
- CI/CD Awareness: Agile delivery pipelines
- Scripting knowledge: Basic C# (nice to have)
- XPath and test scripting techniques
- Experience with QA and test management tools (e.g. HP ALM SpiraTeam)
- Strong experience with SCRUM / Agile methodologies
- Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) is a plus
- Strong understanding of:
- Shift-left testing
- Regression testing strategies
- Test lifecycle management
- Native-level Dutch proficiency (CEFR C2).
- Experience in large-scale enterprise or government environments.
- Experience leading or guiding cross-functional testing teams.
