Senior Scrum Master (mwd)
Job Summary
As Scrum Master youll be the go-to reference for the team on all things Agile. Youll make sure everyone understands and applies the Scrum methodology help the team get the most out of each sprint and shield them from anything that gets in the way of good work whether thats internal noise or outside pressure.
Youll coach the project team and work closely with business stakeholders helping everyone understand what kind of interaction actually helps the team move forward (and what doesnt).
What youll do:
Project follow-up
- Act as delivery owner across squads
- Set up and run the key Scrum ceremonies: Daily Stand-up Sprint Planning Sprint Review Retrospective and other team meetings
- Plan and track the key milestones of the methodology
- Make sure Scrum is applied smoothly and help the team work through any obstacles
- Support the Product Owner with the Product Backlog
- Help the team deliver on the Definition of Done Sprint Backlog and related deliverables
- Track team capacity and velocity to support planning and progress tracking
Coaching & methodology
- Coach and challenge the team to keep raising the bar
- Help the team navigate difficulties and grow more self-organized over time
- Remove blockers and protect the team from outside distractions
- Champion Agile practices across the organization
- Report to management on how well Scrum is being applied across projects
- Manage risks and issues as they come up
Qualifications :
- At least 6 years in a relevant role
Technical background:
- Comfortable with Agile reporting and tracking tools (e.g. Jira)
- Familiar with automated unit/functional testing and CI tooling
- Solid grasp of software development and project management methodologies
- Able to balance Agile coaching with real delivery ownership
- Experience in large organizations comfortable managing dependencies in complex environments
- Experience working with multicultural teams
- A strong Agile mindset
Languages:
- Strong English plus at least one local language (Dutch / French).
Business background:
- Expert-level knowledge of Agile methods and techniques (e.g. Kanban)
- Experience managing multiple dependencies in complex organizations
Soft skills:
- Team player comfortable in multicultural settings
- Strong communicator
- Well-organized
- Enjoys sharing knowledge
