Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Belgian Prevention Advisor Level 2 to provide temporary HSE support on two active industrial construction projects in Charleroi. As a Project Partner you will ensure compliance with Belgian health and safety legislation client HSE standards and contractor safety procedures while supporting site management in maintaining a safe working environment throughout the construction phase.
The role is site-based and requires daily interaction with project management contractors and subcontractors operating in a fast-paced civil engineering and construction environment.
Responsibilities might include:
Act as the on-site Prevention Advisor (Level 2) for two active construction projects.
Monitor compliance with Belgian Well-being at Work legislation the Belgian Codex on Well-being at Work and project-specific HSE requirements.
Conduct regular site inspections and safety walks to identify unsafe acts unsafe conditions and opportunities for improvement.
Perform and review task-specific risk assessments (TRA/JSA) and ensure adequate preventive measures are implemented before work starts.
Verify that contractors comply with project HSE procedures permit-to-work systems and client safety standards.
Support Project Managers and Site Managers in implementing the projects Health & Safety Plan.
Participate in daily coordination meetings toolbox talks and pre-task briefings.
Deliver site safety inductions for new personnel where required.
Monitor high-risk activities.
Carry out incident accident and near-miss investigations and identify root causes.
Track corrective and preventive actions through to completion.
Ensure appropriate use of PPE and safe work practices across the projects.
Review RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) submitted by contractors.
Support emergency preparedness and emergency response arrangements on site.
Maintain HSE records inspection reports and statutory documentation.
Produce weekly HSE reports and communicate key findings to project management.
Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching and visible safety leadership.
Liaise with client representatives contractors and external stakeholders regarding HSE matters.
Assist during client audits internal audits and regulatory inspections where required.
Required Experience
Minimum 5 years experience as a Prevention Advisor on construction projects.
Previous experience on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Experience coordinating multiple contractors on active construction sites.
Fluent English (spoken and written) mandatory.
French is highly desirable for interaction with local contractors.
Belgian Prevention Advisor Level 2 certification.
Valid VCA Basic or VCA VOL certification.
