Overview

Cegeka is looking for a Senior Linux / Open Systems Engineer with strong expertise in container platforms and DevSecOps environments to support projects within the Flemish Government framework contract.

You will work on technically challenging Linux and container-based environments delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions while collaborating closely with clients and engineering teams. This role combines deep technical expertise customer interaction and knowledge sharing within a modern Open Systems ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement configure and maintain Linux/Open Systems environments
• Work with container platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift
• Support Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization environments
• Apply DevSecOps principles and CNCF tooling in enterprise environments
• Automate infrastructure and deployment processes using tools such as Ansible Jenkins Terraform and GitHub
• Provide technical support throughout the full lifecycle (installation configuration upgrades maintenance)
• Collaborate with clients and internal engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions
• Contribute to technical documentation knowledge sharing and mentoring colleagues
• Proactively identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience as a System Engineer in an Open Systems environment
• Strong expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization
• Solid knowledge of DevSecOps principles and CNCF tooling
• Practical experience with Ansible Jenkins Terraform GitHub and related automation tools
• Strong analytical troubleshooting and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within teams
• Bachelors or Masters degree
• Fluent in Dutch and English
• Willingness to work on-site in Brussels 12 days per week

Additional Details

• Full-time assignment
• Hybrid working model (12 days on-site in Brussels near North Station)
• Initial contract until December 2026 with possible extension
