Senior IT Project Manager

Location: Brussels (Hybrid VUB Campus Ixelles)
Start Date: August 2026
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Language Requirement: Dutch (CEFR C2)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a dynamic ICT environment within a leading academic this role you will take ownership of multiple IT and infrastructure-related projects acting as the key link between internal stakeholders and external vendors.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will drive delivery ensure alignment across teams and bring structure clarity and momentum to complex ICT initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

Lead and deliver multiple IT and infrastructure projects simultaneously

Act as the central point of contact for all project stakeholders (ICT teams business units and external suppliers)

Define monitor and control project scope timelines risks and deliverables

Manage project governance reporting and stakeholder communication

Ensure alignment with ITIL processes and organizational standards

Coordinate external vendors and ensure successful project delivery

Facilitate decision-making and remove blockers to ensure progress

Support continuous improvement across project execution practices

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in IT infrastructure or development projects

Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects

Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PRINCE2 PMBOK etc.)

Experience in IT software project delivery (minimum 5 years)

Experience using project management tools and techniques (risk issue and change management)

Strong knowledge of MS Project and MS Office (PowerPoint Excel)

Solid understanding of ITIL processes

Native-level Dutch proficiency (CEFR C2)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in public sector or academic environments

Experience with public procurement and vendor management

Experience managing integration projects

Experience delivering projects with external suppliers in complex environments
