Location: Borgerhout Belgium (Hybrid initially onsite remote possible later)
We are looking for a Senior ICT Expert with extensive experience in Unreal Engine 5 to support the modernization of a real-time simulation platform. You will play a key role in designing and implementing a production-ready asset pipeline enabling the transition from a legacy visualization stack to Unreal Engine 5.8. This is a consultancy assignment focused on knowledge transfer pipeline optimization and establishing long-term best practices.
- Design and implement a modern asset pipeline from Blender to Unreal Engine 5.8.
- Define Unreal project structure asset naming conventions and asset management strategies.
- Develop reliable import/export workflows (FBX USD procedural pipelines etc.).
- Optimize asset and environment production using Unreal technologies such as:
- Blueprints
- PCG (Procedural Content Generation)
- Material Instances and Master Materials
- Data-driven environment assembly
- Houdini Engine
- Develop or guide the development of pipeline automation tools using Python APIs and command-line tools.
- Establish version control strategies and asset management workflows (SVN Git LFS Perforce).
- Advise on multi-user collaboration workflows.
- Produce technical documentation and transfer knowledge to the internal team.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Technical Director Pipeline TD or Senior Technical Artist.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Unreal Engine development.
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing real-time asset pipelines for games simulations or VFX.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with version control systems.
- Experience developing custom tools and automating pipelines through APIs or scripting.
- Strong knowledge of Unreal asset management content cooking and project structure.
- Native-level Dutch (CEFR C2).
- Strong English communication skills.
- Experience with Blender pipelines.
- Experience with Houdini procedural workflows.
- Experience with Substance Painter and Substance Designer.
- Experience with large-scale real-time environment pipelines.
- Experience with simulation or training applications.
- Experience with GIS-driven or procedural world building.
