Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to design develop and maintain cloud-based applications while supporting the migration of existing solutions to modern cloud platforms. The successful candidate will play a leading role in software development DevOps practices and Agile delivery while mentoring developers and contributing to the technical direction of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop maintain and enhance cloud-based applications.
- Design and implement scalable cloud-native solutions.
- Lead and mentor a team of developers providing technical guidance and coaching.
- Perform software development activities including coding testing debugging and code reviews.
- Support migration of applications to cloud platforms.
- Take a leading role within Agile development teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Contribute to DevOps best practices automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Java software development.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Kubernetes.
- Proven experience developing cloud-based applications.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Functions.
- Experience migrating applications to cloud platforms.
- Experience working within the public sector.
- Experience in the waste management or environmental services sector.
- Fluent Dutch (CEFR C2 level).
Preferred Skills
- Experience leading and coaching development teams.
- Strong programming skills including coding testing and debugging.
- Experience working in Agile development environments in a leadership capacity.
- Experience with Terraform.
- Experience with PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira Confluence Bitbucket Bamboo).
- Experience working within the Flemish Government or similar government organisations.
