Senior Cloud Architect (AWS)
Location
Brussels Belgium (Hybrid)
Role Overview
We are looking for experienced Senior Cloud Architects to support the design implementation security and operation of a large-scale hybrid cloud environment. You will work alongside internal infrastructure and service delivery teams to establish a secure scalable and compliant AWS cloud foundation while promoting Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a secure and scalable AWS landing zone.
- Define and manage AWS organizational structures using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and CloudFormation).
- Implement and manage Service Control Policies (SCPs).
- Configure AWS Identity Center and integrate Single Sign-On (SSO) with external identity providers.
- Ensure compliance with security and governance frameworks including NIS2 and ISO 27001.
- Define and enforce data classification encryption and security policies.
- Design and implement logging monitoring archiving and backup strategies.
- Establish secure connectivity between AWS environments and on-premises data centers.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
- Develop reusable Terraform templates and cloud golden paths.
- Provide technical guidance mentoring and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- Expert-level experience with AWS cloud services and architecture.
- Strong expertise in:
- Terraform
- AWS CloudFormation / CDK
- Cloud Security
- GitLab
- Kubernetes
- Java
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience designing and operating hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud governance security and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with DevOps practices CI/CD automation and platform engineering.
Certifications
One or more of the following AWS certifications is highly desirable:
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- AWS Certified Developer
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- AWS Certified Security Specialty
- AWS Authorized Instructor
- AWS Hero
Languages
- Dutch or French: Working proficiency
