Semantic Editor (Junior) Ghent Belgium (Hybrid) Start Date: June 2026
Overview
Digital Flanders is looking for a Junior Semantic Editor to strengthen the Data Standards team and support the development implementation and maintenance of interoperable data standards across the Flemish Government ecosystem.
You will work on projects focused on semantic modeling linked data and data standardization helping organizations exchange and structure data consistently and efficiently. This role is ideal for someone with a background in data modeling analytics or data warehousing who is interested in semantic technologies and government digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and refine semantic data standards and application profiles
Model and harmonize data according to interoperability principles
Create clear definitions explanations and semantic structures for concepts and datasets
Develop domain models and data specifications based on project documentation and business processes
Facilitate workshops and working groups with internal and external stakeholders
Process feedback and ensure alignment between partners and teams
Support implementation teams with practical guidance on applying data standards
Ensure semantic consistency across projects and initiatives
Contribute to reusable standards for data and service exchange
Work with modeling techniques such as UML RDF Turtle and JSON-LD
Requirements
1 year of experience as an Analyst or similar role
Experience with data warehouse modeling
Experience with UML or BPMN
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts architectures and processes
Experience with tools such as Cognos or Datastage
Familiarity with ETL BI/reporting databases and metadata concepts
Experience working in project-based environments
Strong analytical and communication skills
Dutch language proficiency at C2 level (mandatory)
Nice to Have
Knowledge of JSON-LD and Linked Data
Experience with Agile methodologies
Familiarity with OSLO data standards
Experience developing policy-supporting data standards (OSLO SEMIC ICEG)
Understanding of RDF and semantic web technologies
Interest in interoperability and public-sector digital transformation
