Job Summary

To coordinate and streamline managerial activities within the organization we are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our dynamic Discovery organization in Gent/Zwijnaarde. This position is an ideal fit for someone with a PhD and early (1-3 years) experience in project management within an industry settingespecially those who thrive outside rigid matrix structures and prefer a hands-on pragmatic approach to driving progress.


This position requires an on-site presence in the office/labs in Zwijnaarde (Ghent Belgium) of at least 4 days/week.

What youll do

You will drive planning tracking and alignment across preclinical product development (PPD) projects while also shaping and maintaining clear and efficient ways of working within the PPD team.

  • Project Planning & Cross-functional Coordination
    • Build and maintain integrated project timelines across PPD projects ensuring deliverables dependencies and critical path activities are clearly defined.
    • Actively follow up on deliverables and timelines ensuring teams stay aligned and progress is made as planned.
    • Facilitate alignment between functions (CMC BA PharmTox Discovery) on timelines priorities and dependencies.
    • Ensure clear ownership of deliverables and clarify roles and responsibilities where needed.
    • Maintain a clear overview of project status including key milestones risks and next steps.
    • Ensure relevant information is shared in time and reaches the right stakeholders to support decision-making.
  • Meeting leadership & communication
    • Organize and facilitate cross-functional project meetings (e.g. PPD project team meetings) including:
      • Preparing agendas and template slide decks
      • Capturing decisions and action items
    • Ensure clear documentation and follow-up including action tracking and decision logs.
    • Provide structured and concise project updates (status risks decisions) to stakeholders.
  • Planning tracking & process simplification
    • Set up and maintain project tracking tools (timelines milestone trackers readiness checklists).
    • Track progress vs. plan and proactively identify delays or gaps.
    • Ensure projects are planning-ready and decision-ready at key milestones.
    • Improve and simplify existing processes trackers and templates to reduce complexity and administrative burden.
    • Standardize practical ways of working across PPD (meeting structure tracking documentation).
  • Portfolio oversight & reporting
    • Maintain and update portfolio dashboards ensuring accurate and consistent project data across PPD.
    • Provide clear portfolio-level visibility on timelines risks and milestone readiness.
    • Support preparation of governance meetings (PPD SMC) by structuring project updates and ensuring data quality.
  • Knowledge Management & team enablement
    • Ensure decisions assumptions timelines and key learnings are clearly documented and accessible.
    • Maintain and improve PPD templates trackers and knowledge repositories.
    • Act as a go-to person within PPD for questions on:
      • Project status
      • Timelines and tracking
      • Processes and ways of working
    • Help team members navigate the organization connecting the right people and ensuring questions are addressed efficiently.
    • Act as a central information hub ensuring continuity and reducing knowledge loss across projects.

Profile

  • PhD in life sciences or related field with 1-3 years of experience in project management in an industry context.
  • A cando mindset: anticipates needs brings structure and acts with urgency while keeping things simple.
  • Displays a genuine scientific curiosity and interest to grasp the high-level biology of ongoing projects enabling you to identify synergies and foster connections across initiatives.
  • Thrives in an empowered lean environment with clear ownership and efficient decisionmaking.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Strong organizational communication and stakeholder management skills; confident facilitating crossfunctional teams. A collaborative attitude and willingness to be the go-to person for operational guidance and documentation.

The annual base salary hiring range for this position is 68000.00 - 93500.00 EUR

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term and long-term incentives program.

The hiring range displayed above is the range of possible base pay compensation that argenx believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting. The hiring range is based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity prior education and experience job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills. argenx may pay more or less than the posted range and this range may be modified in the future.
