Job Summary
Every network runs on a register of names and addresses. If that register iswrong nothing else works and nobody notices until it breaks.
You would keep that register right for a multinational defence network working on-site atBraine-lAlleud Belgium under the section head responsible for names and addressing.
What you would be doing
- Closing tickets inside the agreed service levels
- Owning the quality and integrity of the data itself
- Registering and publishing the names addresses and metadata the networks depend on
- Extracting de-duplicating matching and fusing data then curating the master recordsthrough their life
- Assigning and registering addressing and enterprise names against infrastructure designs
- Helping project teams fold names and addresses of configuration items into the centralrepositories
- Automating configuration data for partner and mission-network affiliates
- Automating how network telemetry is collected and ingested
What you would bring
- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with three years of related experienceor a secondary qualification with five
- At least three years as a network technician or in a DDI or IP address management role
- Familiarity with network automation or another scripting or coding language
- Confident subnetting in both IPv4 and IPv6
- Practical DNS IP and routing protocols OSPF RIP IS-IS BGP and the rest
- Evaluating and processing change requests
- Auditing device configurations against the registered baseline
Nice to have
- Address management on military networks or hands-on use of an IPAM database
- Wide-area and local-area networking firewalls and an awareness of MPLS and multicast
- An industry certification such as CCNA DevNet or JNCIA or the experience to match
- Writing documentation and manuals for a technical readership
- The RIPE NCC local internet registry course
- Work in an international environment with both military and civilian colleagues
