Linux Technical Lead

We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Technical Lead to help elevate the operational maturity of our Linux platform team. This role goes beyond technical expertise: we are seeking a strong leader who demonstrates ownership accountability organizational skills and operational excellence.
The consultant will work closely with engineers product owners service management and stakeholders to establish structure improve operational processes and drive reliability across our Linux estate. The ideal candidate combines deep Linux expertise with the maturity and leadership required to organize and streamline a growing operations function.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Linux team.
Define and drive best practices for Linux platform operations maintenance security and lifecycle management.
Support complex troubleshooting root cause analysis and incident resolution.
Act as a senior escalation point for critical Linux-related issues.

Operational Excellence
Help organize and structure the operational activities of the Linux team.
Improve incident problem change and capacity management practices.
Drive operational metrics reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Improve service reliability availability and operational efficiency.
Support the creation and maintenance of operational documentation runbooks and knowledge management practices.

Team Coaching & Leadership
Lead by example and foster a culture of accountability and ownership.
Coach and mentor Linux engineers on operational excellence and technical best practices.
Act as a trusted advisor to management and stakeholders.
Build strong collaboration across infrastructure security cloud and application teams.

Automation & Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational tasks.
Reduce operational toil and improve overall platform stability.
Promote proactive monitoring observability and preventive maintenance.
