We are seeking an experienced External Expert to support the evaluation of innovative deeptech startups within a leading technology and innovation environment.
In this role you will assess early-stage ventures developing breakthrough technologies across sectors such as deep tech clean tech climate tech energy circular economy advanced materials artificial intelligenceand industry.Your expertise will help ensure objective high-quality investment evaluations while supporting the commercialization of cutting-edge technologies.
Due to the confidential nature of the work successful candidates must be willing to sign a strict Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
- Evaluate innovative deeptech startup and spin-off opportunities.
- Conduct investment analysis and due diligence on early-stage companies.
- Assess technology commercial viability scalability and investment readiness.
- Provide objective recommendations to support funding and commercialization decisions.
- Review confidential technical and business documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary innovation and commercialization teams.
- Contribute to improving the quality and market orientation of startup assessments.
- Minimum 5 years experience as an innovation consultantor in a similar senior advisory role.
- Demonstrated experience in investment analysis and due diligence.
- Practical experience evaluating mentoring financing or supporting early-stage startups.
- Strong knowledge of DeepTech CleanTech ClimateTech or other technology-driven industries.
- Bachelors or Masters degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Native-level Dutch proficiency (CEFR C2).
- Experience with process engineeringlean manufacturingor continuous improvement.
- Experience in business process optimization and project management.
- Background in B2B industrial research-intensive or technology commercialization environments.
- Hybrid working model.
- Approximately 15% allocation throughout the contract.
- Estimated workload of 500 hours.
- Initial subcontract of approximately 100 hours with potential extensions based on project needs and performance.
- Hourly rates remain fixed during the first 12 months with a maximum of one approved revision per year thereafter.
You are an experienced innovation or investment professional with a strong understanding of emerging technologies and startup ecosystems. You combine commercial insight with technical expertise and are passionate about helping innovative ventures succeed while maintaining objectivity and confidentiality throughout the evaluation process.
