Database Administrator / Database Architect
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator / Database Architect to join a team responsible for managing and optimizing critical database environments. You will support the modernization of the database infrastructure oversee the migration to Oracle 26ai ensure high availability and security of production systems and collaborate closely with application infrastructure and security teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer maintain and optimize production and non-production databases.
- Support the migration of critical databases to Oracle 26ai.
- Configure and optimize Oracle database environments including high availability and disaster recovery.
- Define and implement secure database access strategies (IAM roles permissions and auditing).
- Develop test and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
- Support incident resolution and collaborate with development infrastructure and security teams.
- Ensure compliance with security standards including NIS2 requirements.
- Design database architectures and maintain technical documentation.
- Communicate risks recommendations and technical solutions to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- Expert knowledge of Oracle RDBMS Data Guard RMAN SQL PL/SQL and RDS.
- Experience as a Database Administrator and Database Architect.
- Good knowledge of Linux.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and manage small technical projects.
- Native-level proficiency in French or Dutch with at least passive knowledge of the other national language. Active English is an advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with MS SQL Server MySQL MongoDB PostgreSQL Apache and Tomcat.
- Experience leading or mentoring DBA teams.
Work Arrangement
- Location: Brussels Belgium
- Work Model: Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week onsite)
