Job Summary
Application Developer (Java Full Stack)
We are looking for an experienced Application Developer to support the takeover maintenance modernization and development of a portfolio of business-critical applications within a large enterprise environment. You will work on both maintaining existing systems and re-engineering applications to align with modern development standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop maintain and enhance business applications and web services.
- Participate in the takeover and knowledge transfer of existing applications.
- Re-engineer and modernize legacy applications using current technologies and best practices.
- Design and develop application components in collaboration with technical leads and software architects.
- Build RESTful APIs and full-stack web applications.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies technical workshops and user meetings.
- Perform unit testing technical documentation deployment and reporting using Jira and related tools.
- Troubleshoot maintain and improve existing codebases in complex multi-system environments.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 7 years of professional Java development experience (full-stack preferred).
- Strong experience with:
- Java 17
- Spring Framework 4
- Spring Boot 3
- Angular 19
- RESTful APIs & OpenAPI
- Maven
- Docker
- Git
- NPM
- PostgreSQL SQL Server and relational databases
- JUnit Mockito Cypress (Test-Driven Development)
- BPMN and UML
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand and maintain existing applications.

Work Arrangement
- Hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days onsite per week in Brussels.
- Initial contract until 30 September 2026 with strong possibility of extension.
