Opers AI Analyst Herman is a mortgage underwriting agent that automates document validation data extraction fact-checking and credit policy application to deliver fully explainable decision-ready loan recommendations in minutes instead of hours.

Oper currently has offices in Zürich Switzerland and Antwerp Belgium.
Now were looking for an AI-Native Customer Success Engineer to join our mission and help shape the future of automated mortgages in Europe and beyond.
Your Mission
In this role you will own the technical side of getting our product live and running smoothly for specific customers. The work spans a wide range from focused changes like a custom acceptance rule or a contract template adjustment to more complex custom integrations and micro-services. Youll work within the frameworks the product team provides extending them with new business logic and journeys rather than conceptualising major new features all with the goal of getting more clients live on Oper and keeping them successful. This is a role for someone who is AI-native who uses modern AI tooling as a core part of how they think write and ship.
Tasks
What youll do
- Own the technical implementation of customer installations: configuring acceptance and business rules adapting contract templates building custom integrations and micro-services and extending existing product frameworks with new logic.
- Work closely with the rest of the CS team across multiple clients and projects at once switching context comfortably between different people codebases and problem areas.
- Be customer-facing: joining meetings and workshops with clients and system integrators translating their needs into technical solutions.
- Liaise with the product team to suggest improvements that let us onboard clients faster.
Work AI-native
We expect you to use modern AI tooling as a real lever not a curiosity.
- Write code AI-first: agents produce the bulk of your code under your direction while you own the architecture integrations review and quality. We measure your output in shipped customer value not hand-typed lines.
- Build agentic workflows that do real work: scaffolding integrations and micro-services from a spec generating and running tests drafting configuration and contract logic and reviewing diffs.
- Use modern AI coding tooling as the default way you build configure and debug not as an occasional helper.
- Identify where AI compounds your work and where it does not and design your workflow accordingly
- Aim for a delivery cadence a non-AI-native engineer simply cannot match and help us raise the bar on what an AI-native delivery function looks like at Oper
Requirements
What youll bring
- 3 to 5 years of experience in software development.
- Full stack Python (Django or FastAPI) on the back-end and Angular on the front-end
- Solid experience with REST APIs and integration work comfortable shipping across the full stack from Angular front-ends to Python services.
- Comfortable working with flexible and loosely defined requirements bringing your own structure where needed.
- Awareness of security best practices (no deep security engineering required).
- Genuinely AI-native: agents already write most of your code and you build agentic workflows to multiply your output. You can name the tools the workflows and the concrete recent projects where AI gave you real leverage and you treat AI as the default way you build.
- Excellent communication skills
- Creative and analytical mindset
- Ambition to learn experiment and grow while staying humble and open-minded
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g. German) are a plus
- Experience in a relevant industry (financial services) and thriving in a scale-up environment are a plus.
Location & Setup
- Belgium-based candidates: hybrid setup with 2 to 3 days per week in our Antwerp office
- Working in CET hours
- Reporting to the Head of Customer Success (Co-Founder)
- Close collaboration with the whole Customer Success Product and Engineering teams
