Metrea is actively building its presence in Australia as part of a deliberate globally coordinated expansion into the Asia-Pacific region. Our Asia-Pacific Market Group headquartered in Brisbane with an additional office in Perth is the enterprises dedicated regional interface connecting Australias national security community with Metreas full suite of capabilities across three core domains: Aerospace Electromagnetic & Cyber and Digital & Synthetic. Metrea is now bringing that same depth of mission expertise and proven operating model to Australia. You would be joining a small but hands on People Team which will help scale the broader Australian team significantly in the coming months and years.
Position Summary
This role is the first dedicated Talent Acquisition lead in Australia responsible for building and delivering end-to-end recruitment capability across all domains including Aviation Technical Enterprise and Market Development. As a hands-on player-coach you will lead hiring execution while shaping the recruitment function bringing structure market insight and disciplined sourcing to support both current operations and future growth. A keycomponentof the role is partneringtoprovide talent intelligence build forward-looking pipelines and support workforce readiness fornew programsand market entry initiatives.

What Youll Do
End-to-End Recruitment Delivery
- Own and deliver full-cycle recruitment across aviation technical enterprise and leadership roles
- Drive high-quality hiring outcomes in a low-volume high-complexity environment
- Manage sourcing screening process design offer negotiation and closing
Market Development & Workforce Readiness
- Build proactive pipelines for critical and hard-to-find roles ahead of demand
- Provide talent intelligence including market mapping competitor insights and availability of key skill sets
Talent Strategy & Function Build
- Establish scalable recruitment practices tools and rhythms aligned withMetreasglobal standards
- Introduce disciplined sourcing pipeline management and hiring tracking
- Support employer brand development within the Australian defence and aviation market
Stakeholder Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and leaders
- Challenge hiring assumptions and guide decision-making using market insight and data
- Align hiring activity with workforce planning and operational priorities
Candidate Experience & Representation
- Deliver a high-quality transparent and professional candidate experience
- RepresentMetreasmissionfirmware and operating model effectively to candidates
- Build long-term relationships within key talent communities
What You Bring
- Rooted in Humility: You value the universal over the personal. Maximising what you know skeptically filtering what you believe you know and further limiting what you project to know
- 58 years recruitment experience across complex or technical environments
- Demonstrated experience hiring across multiple functions (e.g. aviation technical G&A)
- Familiarity with a wide range of domain-specific talent markets including key talent pools and industry strong sourcing capability and ability to build pipelines from scratch
- Experienceoperatingin ambiguous or build-phase environments
- Ability to engage senior stakeholders and influence hiring decisions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust credibility and influence stakeholders and candidates alike
- Familiarity with a wide range of domain-specific talent markets including key talent pools and industry trends
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced complex environment collaborating with multiple stakeholders across different teams and time zones
- Ability to obtain and maintain Australian baseline security clearance
In addition to the above any of the following would be beneficial:
- Experience in defence aviation or adjacent regulated industries
- Exposure to workforce planning or supporting growth / bids
- Experience building or scaling a recruitment function
- Familiarity with Australian talent markets particularly defence and aviation
